Curls Allowed.

February Box.

I know, I am a tad late in posting this.

Once again, the excitement mounts waiting for the curly girl friendly subscription box from Curls Allowed . February was our month (next one is April)

I’ve trialled the Cake hair foam, which I believe can be purchased from Boots stores. It was light, smelt nice, but I was unsure of it. I will give a more extensive go soon though. I have veered away from hair mousse in last half of the year, sticking with gels instead. I just seem to get much better curl definition with gels.

The little silver bottle is a 4 in 1 product from Tabitha James Kraan which I have used in a refresh and is lovely and moisturising, smells divine.

The Masque from Shea Moisture has caused some issues. This was substituted for a curly girl approved product. The issue surrounding it, is one of the ingredients.

This is the official notice recieved from Curls Allowed;

We have been advised that the Shea Moisture mask contains an ingredient, Hydrolized Vegetable Protein PG-Propyl Silanetriol which is not water-soluble and may cause build-up with regular use. The sachet is a small amount and unlikely to cause much buildup, it also not in the top 5 of the ingredients list, however we felt its best to change it with another product going forward.

Whilst I understand the issues surrounding this Ingredient I will still use this Masque as a deep conditioner. I am off the opinion that one use possibly won’t cause too much damage. After all, the key is in the statement; “regular use”. I don’t plan on using this product again.

I do use one of Shea Moisture’s other masques but as far as I can see, this particular one does not contain Hydrolyzed Vegetable Protein PG-propyl Silanetriol.
