Throwback Thursday.

Hair in Eire.

Let’s return to around 1993. When I was a rebellious teen. I’ve already shown you a throwback from these days, specifically these travels in another Throwback Thursday post in August boomerang that back. I showed you a glorious image of my ginger bleach experience. This photo was taken around same time but doesn’t show the beautiful orange glow I achieved out in the sunlight.

But, what it does show was my love for clippers. And shaving an undercut into my hair. It all began in desperation to lessen the volume of wirey hair I had. It then became my shock factor. Adults hated it. Younger peers feared me, but I was marking my territory into adulthood through alternative doors.

I was an angry young girl, angry at life for being cruel and difficult and angry at society back then.

Angry at having curly, wirey, volumous hair.

All I can say now is, I wish I still had that volume!
