From Within.

Been thinking about hair health for last few weeks. I’ve been working hard to increase the external hair quality but when key nutrients are absent that in itself, won’t be enough.

Whilst shopping today, I spotted these on the reduced shelf. I took the plunge!

I don’t know if taking supplements for hair really works, but in my thinking, it can not do any harm.

I have terrible skin and quite weak nails too. No, I am not rewriting the gruffalo!

There’s no such thing as a gruffal…?
Oh!”
But who is this creature with terrible claws
And terrible teeth in his terrible jaws?

The Gruffalo. Julia Donaldson.

In for a penny, in for a pound. I’ll give it a go for three months as that is the course of this bottle and see where we go from there.

Hair is one of those things where there are many urban myths surrounding it. From a physiological stand point it requires these things to achieve optimum health.

Vitamin A for cell growth, a cocktail of B Vitamins, probably the best one being Biotin, which interestingly is a B Vitamin known as Vitamin H! Vitamin C. It’s just needed for everything it seems! And D and E. Without Vitamin E, skin can be dry, hair brittle and for eye health.

Then Iron is needed, good blood supply to the hair follicles can mean they stronger and healthier. This is why scalp massage is great for helping hair texture.

Not foregoing Zinc, it’s an essential trace element. It’s required in the body for many things like bone health, immune and metabolic function.

Last but not least, Protein. It is what hair is made up of and curly girls and guys often talk about finding a balance of the right amount of protein for their hair to look it’s best. It is suggested that increasing protein consumption can assist too. It may be a myth, who knows?
